"Farewell to the Concubine" – exhibition on tour
In honour of the United Nations Year of Sanitation the Global Dry Toilet association organises a sanitation exhibition. The exhibition was opened on the 5th of March in Helsinki by the Minister of Foreign affairs Paavo Väyrynen. The exhibition will tour Finland in 2008 and will also be exhibited in English at The Dry Toilet Conference in August 2009.

The title of the exhibition is "Farewell to the Concubine". It is a humoristic true story of the marriage of faeces and urine, and the disturbing influence of a third part - water. However, there is a remedy – the dry toilet. The story is a mixture of science and art. The colourful paintings on plywood were made by Ms Tiina Poutanen, a professional painter. The idea of the exhibition was developed by the producer Outi Nummi together with experts from the Global Dry Toilet Association.
